Various nominated artist of the 55th annual Grammy Awards will be releasing an album on January 22, 2013. The album is released to celebrate the best of the best in the music industry. The Grammy Awards will take place on February 10, 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. Fans of the show can watch it live on CBS.
All 22 songs on the Grammy Nominees album are nominated for an award at the 2013 Grammy Awards. The nominations include Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Rock Album, Rock Song, or Rock Performance, Album of the year, and Song of the Year. Five of those performing on the album have been nominated for Best New Artist. Those up for Best New Artist include Frank Ocean, Alabama Shakes, The Lumineers, Hunter Hays, and Fun.
The first Grammy Nominees album was released in 1995. Between 1997 and 2007 Recording Industry Association of America certified each album as Gold. In addition, the 1996 and 2000 albums were certified Platinum.
