The Gibson Flying V is one of the most easily recognizable electric guitars in the world. First built in 1958, the V-shape body design and pointed headstock give the guitar an arrow-shape that is exciting and futuristic. The guitar also produces a strikingly powerful tone with excellent sustain while being very comfortable to play.

Tom Petty is the frontman, lead singer and guitarist for the band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The band was first formed in 1976 in Gainesville, Florida. Tom Petty has released several solo albums throughout the years and has worked on projects such as The Traveling Wilburys, but the band is still active to this present day. In addition to Petty, band members include lead guitarist Mike Campbell, bassist Ron Blair, pianist Benmont Tench, and drummer Stan Lynch. In 2002, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and have a star on Hollywood Boulevard.
Singer and guitarist Tom Petty is a baritone, with an earthy, twangy sound. For those that have a vocal range in a deeper register, his songs should be fairly easy to sing. For guitars, Petty has used many throughout the years. Originally he used Fender Stratocasters and Rickenbacker guitar, but in present day he uses a Gretsch Tennesseean, Fender Telecasters, and a Gibson Firebird. For acoustic numbers, Petty plays a Gibson Dove and a Guild D25 12-string acoustic. Tom does not use a lot of special effects, and for amplification, he uses two Fender Vibro-King 60-watt combos.

RDIO enables its user to play their own music collection, which can be duplicated from your own existing iTunes or Windows Media Player libraries. As a streaming music service, which means users do not need to download files to listen to the music, RDIO maintains a collection of over 18 million songs. RDIO allows users to share their musical tastes through a variety of social networks, but unlike other popular streaming music players like Spotify, they do not require their users to link their accounts with Facebook. Users are encouraged to follow each other to broaden their musical horizons, including access to listening histories and profiles.
To get started with Rdio, simply open up the app. You are first presented with a heavy rotation selection. These are albums that Rdio thinks you will like based on how often they are played, and on your likes and follows. A search bar in the top left allows users to search for music by anything: song title, artist, album, genre, etc. Categories to browse through include recent activity, top charts
