Chicken PickingPickChicken Picking (cʃɪkən pɪkɪŋ) is also known as ‘country shredding’, which is a style of guitar playing where the musician mutes the strings slightly with his fingers by pulling the played strings away from the fretboard. This method of playing is typically found in country music, but can also be found in metal and rock. Sometimes, the musician will use a telecaster or stratocaster with a Fender amplifier combination to get a really bright, crisp sound with a twangy edge.
