Jimi Hendrix Guitar Solo

Ever since the dawn of rock and roll, overdrive distortion and guitar pioneers like Vaughn, Hendrix, Clapton, and Page, the world of rock and roll and its legions of fans stood up and took notice. The solo soon became the guitarist’s sole platform for expressing the depths of his or her talents.

While one man’s solo trash is another man’s solo treasure, it’s difficult to establish a Top Ten Most Famous Solos list without ruffling a feather or two. So, in our very biased opinion, here is the order ofthe top 5 solos that changed the game:

Stevie Ray Vaughn Texas Flood5. Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughn Stevie Ray Vaughn hit the blues scene like a defibrillator, clear… the blues were revived.

Eric Clapton Crossroads4. Eric Clapton – Crossroads Possibly the most famous guitarist in the world, Eric Clapton, has no doubt earned his stripes as the world’s foremost touring blues-man. Crossroads.

Jimi Hendrix Little Wing3. Jimi Hendrix – Little Wing Little Wing is preceded only by reputation. When you hear it, you’ll wonder how you ever managed to live without it.

lynyrd skynyrd freebird2. Lynyrd Skynyrd – Freebird If you’ve ever been to a concert, regardless of artist, you’ve most likely heard the title of this song chanted from the crowd. Freebird transcends time, and will undoubtedly haunt those who hear it for a long time to come.

led zepplin stairway to heaven1. Led Zepplin – Stairway to Heaven As the most recognized solo in rock and roll history, Stairway to Heaven is a new guitarist gem, and many of us have started here.

Of course, listing the best guitar solos of all time is totally subjective. We’d love to hear what songs you like… What’s your top 5?

Keep Rockin’!!!
