In his more recent work, Nathanson has made a transition to more electric based rock songs, including Car Crash and Run (featuring Sugarland), including a 1968 Fender Coronado.

Nathanson singing style is a breathy tenor tone with a folky, Dylan-esque sound. While he has a relatively large vocal range, most of Nathanson’s songs are should be easy for most tenors familiar with folk-rock. As with his vocals, a beginner to intermediate guitar player equipped with a capo clip and comfortable with basic fingerpicking should be able to play their favorite Matt Nathanson songs.
