Chicago Blues
Chicago Blues (Šəkágò blúz) is a subgenre of the Blues Music genre. It is a form of Blues that developed in Chicago through the combination of the basic acoustic guitar Blues and the harmonica-based Blues sounds. This type of music made the harmonica more prominent through the use of a microphone, to amplify the sound. Electrically amplified guitars, bass guitars, drums, and piano were also introduced to create an entirely new sound. This style of music was known as street corner music and gained quick popularity. Beginning acts like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Koko Taylor brought the music to the masses.
