Electric Blues
Electric Blues (əlɛ́ktrɪk blúz ) is a subgenre of Blues music that is unique, due to its amplified guitar, bass guitar, drums, and even harmonicas. This Blues sound replaced the normal bass guitar with the double bass. It uses guitar techniques that include distortion and power chords, producing a much louder sound and bass line. What began in the 1930s and 40s, led to the creation of Blues Rock. In the 40s, Electric Blues singers, such as Johnny Young and Floyd Jones, began using this type of music, changing the genre of Blues forever. In more recent years, acts like Joe Louis Walker and the most successful, Robert Cray, have continued on in the tradition of Electric Blues. This subgenre continues to be an important part of Blues Music and was the foundation on which Rock Music was born.
