
Amok by Atoms for Peace debuts as #1 on Billboard.com’s Top Rock Album for the week of March 16, 2013. The album was released through XL Recordings on February 25, 2013. The first single from the album, ‘Default’ was released on September 10, 2012 as a download. The second single, ‘Judge, Jury and Executioner’ was also released as a download. It will be released on vinyl on March 19, 2013. Although the official release date for the album was February 25, fans were able to start downloading the album the band’s official website on February 18. Since its release, the reviews have all been favorable.
Atoms for Peace is an alternative, experimental rock band that was formed in 2009. Members of the band include Thom Yorke, Flea, Nigel Godrich, Mauro Refosco, and Joey Waronker. When the band first formed, they began touring and performing the songs from Thom Yorke’s solo debut album. Yorke was the lead singer for the band Radiohead before he started his solo career. The band’s first live performance was at the Echoplex in Los Angeles on October 2, 2009. During 2010, the band opened for Flying Lotus. Up until early 2010, the band was billed as ‘??????” because they hadn’t decided on a name yet.
