The heavy metal band Black Sabbath has released their first studio album since the band got back together in 2011. ’13’ is the nineteenth overall studio album for the band. Originally, Black Sabbath formed in 1968 with Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. Iommi is the only member that has been consistently with the band since its formation. Current band members include not only Iommi but Ozzy Osbourne (1968 – 1977, 1978 – 1979, 1985, and 1997 – present), and Geezer Butler (1968 – 1977, 1978 – 1979, 1985, 1997 – present). Brad Wilk plays the drums for the album ’13’.
To promote the new album Black Sabbath embarked on their fourth tour, Black Sabbath Reunion Tour, in 2012. It was the first tour for the group since the Born Again Tour in 1983. While on tour Adam Wakeman joins the band on keyboards and Tommy Clufetos joins as the drummer. Since Black Sabbath’s formation, the groups style of music has changed. They started out focusing on mainly ominous lyrics and doomy music.
The album ’13’ was released on June 7 in Europe and on June 11 in North America via Republic Records and Vertigo Records in
Alice in Chains has released their second album since the band regrouped in 2005. The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here was released on May 28, 2013. Two singles have already been released from the album, “Hollow” on December 18, 2012 and “Stone” on March 26, 2013. “Hollow” has been described as a combination of doom or stoner metal with grunge tossed in the mix. It also features an amazing guitar solo.
Alice in Chains originally formed in 1987 and stayed together until they took a break in 2002. In 2005, Sean Kinney, Jerry Cantrell, and Mike Inez reunited in Seattle to raise money for the victims of the tsunami disaster in South Asia. William DuVall joined the band in 2006. Former members include Layne Staley who died in 2002 and Mike Starr who died in 2011.
The artwork on the cover features two skulls which combine to form the image of the devil. The title is based on the belief, that some people have, that the Devil planted dinosaur bones on
