Cannon.fm is an application created to give users access to local music scenes across the United States, by letting its users listen to streaming music channels based on location and genre. Currently available from the Apple App Store, with an Android version and web player coming sometime in August, Cannon.fm will allow local musicians access to a larger audience than ever before. The streaming radio app is currently focused on the music scene in the company’s hometown of Columbus right now but plans to expand into other areas soon.
 
Along with the usual streaming music play, pause and skip tracks features, the Cannon.fm app  has a replay button so you can listen to new favorites until you know every word. Lyrics, along with song lists and band information, populate a profile page for each group. They also include a system to vote songs up and down – using the classic “rock on” hand gesture – ranks each song’s popularity. The more popular a song is on the Cannon.fm app, the more likely it is to be played for the crowd.
 
With an easy to use interface and song library that is growing by the day, Cannon.fm offers a chance to learn more about the wealth of music available outside of top 40 radio.
