Carry Me Back by Old Crow Medicine Show is Billboard.com’s Top Bluegrass Album of the week for November 17, 2012. The album, which was released on July 17, 2012, has spent 17 weeks on Billboard.com’s Bluegrass Album of the week. Since the release of the ‘Carry Me Back’, the album has also charted as #1 on the Folk Albums chart, #4 on the Country Albums chart and #5 on the Tastemaker Albums chart.
 
The band was formed in 1998 and has released eight studio albums including Tennessee Pusher which spent 78 weeks on the Bluegrass Albums chart. Current members of Old Crow Medicine Show include Critter Fuqua, Kevin Hayes, Morgan Jahnig, Gill Landry, Ketch Secor, and Willie Watson. The band plays a variety of musical instruments including slide guitar, guitar, resonator guitar, and banjo. In addition, the band also plays the violin, harmonica, and upright bass.
 
The band’s big break came when they were discovered playing outside a pharmacy in Boone, North Carolina by Doc Watson’s daughter. Watson invited the band to participate in the MerleFest music festival which is held annually in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. In 2000 after the MerleFest, the band moved to Nashville where there were embraced byMarty Stuart who helped the band land high profile concerts.
