Heartthrob by Tegan and Sara debuts on the Top Rock Album of the Week chart for the week of February 16, 2013. This is the seventh studio album for the duo. Two singles from Heartthrob has already been released. ‘Closer’ and ‘I’m Not Your Hero’ were both released in 2012. Heartthrob was released in the US and Canada on January 29, 2013.
 
While recording Heartthrob, Tegan and Sara released eight videos that documented the recording progress. This series of videos was entitled ‘Carpool Confessional’.  Greg Kurstin, Mike Elizondo, and Justin Meldal-Johnsen produced the album. Musical style of the Heartthrob is Indie rock, synthpop, and/or Indie pop.
 
Tegan and Sara Quin started writing songs and playing the guitar in 1995 when they were just 15 years old. In 1998, the sisters started touring by car and Greyhound bus. By 2000 they were touring with Neil Young and The Pretenders. In 2012, Tegan and Sara toured with The Black Keys as well as The Killers. The girls both provide the vocals, guitar and keyboard for their music. In addition, backing musicians include Ted Gowans (guitar), Jasper Leak (bass), John Spence (keyboards), and Adam Christgau (drums).
