
Ho Hey by The Lumineers is Billboard.com’s #1 Top Rock Song for the week ending 9/29/12. In addition, ‘Ho Hey’ was also #1 on the Alternative Songs chart and #17 on the On-Demand Songs chart for this week. ‘Ho Hey’ debuted at #90 and has spent 22 weeks on the Top Rock Song chart.
‘Ho Hey’ is the first release from the band’s self-titled debut album. The Lumineers released this song on June 4, 2012. Moreover, the music video was released on March 11, 2012. Ben Fee directed the video which consisted of the band dancing and singing with other people. The music genre for ‘Ho Hey’ is Indie folk. Sales for this self-titled album has hit over 500,000 copies sold.

The folk rock band, The Lumineers, is originally from Ramsey, New Jersey but now call Denver, Colorado home. Wesley Schultz, Jeremiah Fraites, and Neyla Pekarek make up the core band. Additional musicians are added to the group for tours. Fraites and Schultz have been writing and performing together since 2005 and Pekarek joined the band in 2011. The band signed with the label Dualtone in 2011.
There are many different instruments played by the band members including guitar, percussion, mandolin, and cello. The band has received favorable reviews of their music and has sold-old tour dates during 2012. Before ‘Ho Hey’ was released as a single it was featured on a Bing television commercial. The commercial aired on June 1, 2012.
