Gone away and miss your favorite radio station back home? Curious about what music people are listening to in another city? If so, iHeartRadio is the place for you. The music app, available from their homepage at www.iheart.com or via the app store of your favorite device (Apple, Android, Blackberry, Kindle, XBox, and Google TV are supported), streams music over an Internet connection, eliminating the need to download MP3s of every song you love. Users can start with a single song, artist, or genre and begin their own radio station playing songs that advanced algorithms determine are related, or play live radio from one of over 1,000 featured stations across the USA. Stations are searchable via location or genre.
To get started, just choose a station located near you, as featured on the homepage, or search for a station, artist, or song in the search box at the top. The find link on the top toolbar features a listing of stations by genre, or click “Explore All Stations” to find links to every station they have to offer. When you find one you want to listen to, simply push the play station button and start listening. Station pages features recently played songs, who is currently DJing, and a listing of similar stations you may like to try. In addition, Facebook connectivity allows users to share their favorite stations with friends and see what others are listening to. Along with providing purchase links for music you may not own yet but want to, listening via iHeartRadio is absolutely free, no matter the device you use. Save favorite stations to a favorites list to be able to find them quickly later, and vote for songs you like or dislike to have them listed for future reference as well.
There are a multitude of applications out there that allow a user to listen to popular music, and even create custom radio stations based on songs the user likes and dislikes. However, iHeartRadio is one of the few that lets you listen to live radio from around the country using an Internet connection instead of an FM tuner. So whether you are listening to The Brew 104.9 in Seattle or 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles, iHeartRadio make it easy for you to
