Say what you will about his role as Captain’ Jack Sparrow or his recent vampire movie of the month, but Johnny Depp can play a mean guitar! Joining the Black Keys as they played their hit Gold on the Ceiling at the MTV Music Awards, Depp showed that he has serious chops as both a rhythm and lead guitar player. After accepting the 2012 MTV Generation Award (lifetime achievement), Depp sported a Gibson Les Paul Standard, which served as a great match for the distorted bluesy sounds of the Black Keys.
This is far from Depp’s first time playing the guitar under the bright lights. Recently he’s been seen playing with the likes of Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Mumfords & Sons and Marylin Manson.
