King Animal by Soundgarden debuted this week on Billboard.com’s Top Hard Rock Album of the week. The album also debuted as #2 on the Billboard Rock Albums, #1 on the Tastemaker Albums, and #2 on the Alternative Albums chart. ‘King Animal’ is the sixth studio album for the band. The first single from the album was released on September 27, 2012, ‘Been Away Too Long’. The first single has already charted on the Rock Songs, Rock Airplay, Alternative Songs, and Billboard Canadian Hot 100 charts.

‘King Animal’ by Soundgarden was released on November 12, 2012. This album is the follow up album to the bands Live on I-5 which was released in 2011. However, ‘Live on I-5’ was actually recorded in 1996 during the West Coast leg of their World Tour.  In 1995, the band won Best Metal Performance for ‘Spoonman’ and Best Hard Rock Performance for ‘Black Hole Sun’.
 
Current members of Soundgarden include Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd. Soundgarden disbanded in 1997 after tension during their World Tour. However, after 12 years apart the band reconnected in 2010.
 
A deluxe Edition CD contains all the tracks on the regular CD version plus demo versions of ‘Worse Dreams’, ‘Black Saturday’, and ‘By Crooked Steps’. The track listing for ‘King Animal’ includes:
