Lonely Boy by The Black Keys was named the Best of 2012 Rock Songs by the Billboard.com website. The song also charted on the Best of 2012 Alternative Songs at #7. ‘Lonely Boy’ was certified triple-platinum in Australia, platinum in New Zealand, gold in Denmark, and nine-times platinum in Canada.
 
‘Lonely Boy’ is the first single from the album El Camino which was released on December 6, 2011. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. El Camino sold over 200,000 copies the first week of its release. In addition, the album and the song were nominated for the 2013 Grammy Awards in five categories. In 2011, the band’s album Brothers won the Best Alternative Music Album and Best Recording Package which is awarded to creative director. Additionally, the song ‘Tighten Up’ won Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and was nominated for Best Rock Song.
 
The Black Keys are a garage rock band that was formed in 2001. The band’s first debut album was released in 2002. The album was entitled The Big Come up and was singled out as one of the 21 high-album highs for 2005 by Chuck Klosterman. The Black Keys are made up of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney. The touring musicians include Nick Movshon on bass guitar, Leon Michaels on keyboards, Gus Seyffert on bass guitar and vocals, and John Wood on tambourine, vocals, and organ.
