
After almost 50 years in the music business, Rod Stewart has released his first Christmas album. This week, ‘Merry Christmas, Baby’ is #1 on billboard.com’s Holiday Albums Chart. ‘Merry Christmas, Baby’ also charted as #1 on the Canadian Album, #3 on Billboard 200, and #5 on The Official United Kingdom Albums charts.
Merry Christmas, Baby was released on October 30, 2012 with sales topping 117,000 copies the first week. Stewart is joined by many friends on this album including Trombone Shorty, Mary J. Blige, Cee-Lo Green, and Dave Koz. Also featured on the album is Ella Fitzgerald, Chris Botti, and Michael Buble.
Rod’s last album was Fly Me to the Moon… The Great American Songbook Volume V was released in 2010. Stewart started his musical career in 1964 and has performed under the genres of rock, blues rock, pop, soul, and folk rock. He has been associated with Mercury, Warner Bros., RCA, J, and Universal Music Group album labels.
