Music from Another Dimension by Aerosmith debuted this week on Billboard.com’s Top Rock Album of the week chart. The album also debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200, #1 on the Hard Rock Albums, and #6 on the Canadian Albums Chart. ‘Music from Another Dimension’ was produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Marti Frederiksen.
 
‘Music from Another Dimension’ is the 15th studio album for Aerosmith. The bands last album ‘Honkin’ on Bobo’ was released in 2004 and spent 95 weeks on the Blues Albums chart peaking at #1. ‘Music from Another Dimension’ is the first album released by the band since 2001 with all new material.

Aerosmith started their musical career in 1970 in Boston Massachusetts. This is why the band is often referred to as “The Bad Boys from Boston”. Current band members include Steven Tyler, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry, and Brad Whitford. All current band members have been with the band since the beginning except for Whitford which joined the band 1971. Over the years, the band has performed an amazing almost 2,000 concerts in 40 different countries. They have also had 26 different tours from 1973 until 2012.
 
Aerosmith released their first self-entitled album in 1973 on the Columbia label. The first album peaked at #21 on the charts. Although Aerosmith had success during the 70s, they didn’t start winning awards and receiving major recognition until they made a comeback in the 1980s and 1990s.
