Over by Blake Shelton has finally found its way to the #1 spot on Billboard.com’s Hot Country Songs chart. ‘Over’ has spent sixteen weeks in the top 40. Last week ‘Over’ was #4 but jumped this week to claim the #1 spot. This was not the only chart ‘Over’ made it on this week. The song was also #20 on Billboard Radio Songs and 43 on Billboard Hot 100.

‘Over’ is a single from Shelton’s album Red River Blue, which was released on July 12, 2011. The album was produced by Scott Hendricks and released by the Warner Bros. label. The first single from this album was “Honey Bee” which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. The second single from ‘Red River Blue’ was a duet with Blake’s wife, Miranda Lambert, entitled God Gave Me You.

Shelton released his debut album ‘Austin’ in 2001 which jump started his career. The first single ‘Austin’ held the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs for five weeks. Shelton grew up in Ada, Oklahoma but moved to Nashville, Tennessee when he was 17 years old. After several years in Nashville, Shelton signed with Giant Records in 1998.

Blake Shelton has had 22 charted singles which includes twelve that went to #1. Along with his singing career, Shelton is also one of the coaches on NBC’s hit show, The Voice. The third season of the Voice is scheduled to start in the fall of 2012 with Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Cee Lo Green returning to coach.
