Pontoon by Little Big Town moved one spot this week to the #1 spot on Billboard.com’s Hot Country Songs chart. ‘Pontoon’ was also #1 on Billboard.com’s Ringtones and #23 on Billboard.com’s Hot 100. This is the first #1 Country Song for Little Big Town and is also the bands fastest rising single. ‘Pontoon’ has spent eighteen weeks on the Billboard.com’s Hot Country Songs chart.

‘Pontoon’ is first single from Little Big Town’s upcoming album Tornado. The album is set for release via Capital Nashville on September 11, 2012. This first song was written by Barry Dean, Natalie Hemby, and Luke Laird and was released on April 30, 2012. The last album for Little Big Town was The Reason Why released in 2010.

Little Big Town is made up of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook. The group released their first album with Monument Records in 2002. Little Big Town had their first Top 10 hit, Bring It on Home, in 2006. The band didn’t have another Top 10 hit until Little White Church in 2010. On a personal note, Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook married on May 31, 2006 and welcomed their first child on March 5, 2010.

The band has been together for over thirteen years. This summer they toured on the Changed Tour with Rascal Flatts, Eli Young Band and Edens Edge. Over the past five years, Little Big Town has toured with several big names including Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, and George Strait.
