The album, Tears on Tape by HIM, is Billboard.com’s Top Hard Rock Album of the Week for May 18, 2013. It is the eighth studio album by HIM. Released on April 26, it makes its debut in the number one spot. The Tears on Tape album is the follow-up to the bands last album, XX-Two Decades of Love Metal which was released in 2012. Three singles have already been released, including “Into the Night” on March 8, “Tears on Tape” on April 4, and “All Lips Go blue” on May 6.
 
HIM was formed in 1991 by Ville Valo, Mikko “Linde” Lindstrome, and Mikko “Mige” Paananen. Current members include the original three plus Janne “Emerson Burton” Puurtinen, and Mika Karppinen. The band uses the heartagram, which represents light and dark, love and death, and good and evil, as their trademark symbol.
