Trouble Will Find Me by The National debuted at #1 on Billboard.com’s Top Rock Album for the week of June 8, 2013. Brothers and band members Aaron and Bryce Dessner produced the album. The boys started writing the songs for this new album at the end of their last tour which supported the previous album. It is the follow-up to the band’s 2010 album High Violet.
Two singles have already been released from the album, ‘Demons’ on April 15, 2013 and ‘Don’t Swallow the Cap’ on April 22, 2013. The album was released on May 17, 2013 and sold almost 75,000 copies the first week. Trouble Will Find Me features appearances by Richard Reed Parry, Nona Marie Invie, Sufjan Stevens, Sharon Van Etten, St. Vincent, and Doveman.
The National band is quoted as saying they chose the name because it didn’t mean anything and was meaningless and benign. Current band members include Matt Berninger, Aaron and Bryce Dessner, Bryan and Scott Devendorf. On April 17, 2013, a film chronicling Tom Berninger’s time spent touring with the band, titled Mistaken for Strangers, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
