Afro-Pop
Afro-Pop (ǽfro- páp) is a category of music that is built upon African popular music, combined with Western music. Afro-Pop does not refer to a specific genre of music, but is used to label popular music in Africa. This style of music incorporates Western sounds from Rock, R&B, and Jazz into the traditional sounds of African Folk music. Since the 1940s, there has been a great influence from the Cubans, allowing this style of music to have Salsa sounds incorporated into its rhythms.
