Babel by Mumford & Sons holds the #1 spot on Billboard.com’s Rock albums for the week of 10/13/2012. ‘Babel’ by Mumford & Sons also holds the #1 spot on Billboard 200, Independent Albums, Alternative Albums, Folk Albums, and the Official UK Albums charts.
 
‘Babel’ is the second studio album for the band Mumford & Sons. Not wanting to mess with a good thing, Mumford & Sons decided to not change their sound on their new album. The album was released in the United States and Canada on September 25, 2012. Die-hard fans were able to pre-order the album from the official website on July 23, 2012. Moreover, the band had been road-testing the new songs since late 2010 during their concerts so fans knew what to expect from the new album.
 
‘Babel’ became the fastest selling album in the UK for 2012 by selling over 150,000 copies in the first week. The album is also the biggest selling debut of an album in the US for 2012 by selling over 600,000 during the first week.  Markus Dravs returns with the band to produce ‘Babel’.
 
The first single from the album is ‘I Will Wait’. Mumford and Sons premiered ‘I Will Wait’ on August 7, 2012 on the Zane Lowe BBC Radio 1 show. The band went on to record a live version of the song in Colorado at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. On September 9, 2012 the band released the live recording as the official video for ‘I Will Wait’.
