David Draiman and his band Device are releasing their first self-titled album on April 9, 2013. The first single from the album, ‘Vilify’ was available for digital download on February 19, 2013. The first live performance for the band will take place in Orlando, FL at Tinker Field for WJRR’s Earthday Birthday 20 on April 13.
David Draiman was the front band for Disturbed which went into hiatus in 2011. Unlike the music that Disturbed performed which were hard rock, alternative metal, and heavy metal, David wanted this album to have a more electronic, industrial metal type sound. The sound of the album is comparable to that of Nine Inch Nails or Ministry. Current band members include Drainman and Geno Lenardo. While touring, Will Hunt and Virus join the guys playing drums and guitar.
Device had help on this album; there are several featured guest appearances. The guests include singers from Black Sabbath, Avenged Sevenfold, and Rage Against the Machine. All songs on the album were written by Device except for ‘Close My Eyes Forever’. It was written by Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford. The tracklist for Device includes:
