Dropkick Murphys ‘Signed and Sealed in Blood’ is the 8th studio album for the band. It is set to be released on January 8, 2013. The title of the album comes from ‘Rose Tattoo’, the first single. The album was recorded between May and July 2012 at Q Davision Studios in Somerville, MA. The genre of the album is celtic punk.
Two singles from the upcoming album has already been released. ‘Rose Tattoo’ was released on November 7, 2012 and ‘The Season’s Upon Us’ was released on December 18, 2012. The bands last album, ‘Going Out in Style’, was released in 2011 and peaked at #6 on the US charts.
Current band members include Ken Casey, Matt Kelly, Al Barr, James Lynch, Tim Brennan, Josh ‘Scruffy’ Wallace, Jeff DaRosa and Casey Carr. Ken Casey is the only member that has been with the band since its formation in 1996. Additionally, the members that started the band include Casey plus Rick Barton, Mike McColgan, Jeff Ema, and Joe Delaney.
A deluxe edition of ‘Signed and Sealed in Blood’ includes the tracks ‘Lucky Charlie’ and ‘The Battle Rages On (Acoustic)’ and the limited edition vinyl album includes ‘Shark Attack’. All versions of ‘Signed and Sealed in Blood’ include:
