George Strait released his 28th studio album on May 14, 2013. Love is Everything contains 13 original songs, with four of them either written or co-written by George, his son Bubba and songwriter Dean Dillon. The lead off single was “Give It All We Got Tonight” (October 29, 2012), and as of May 25, 2013 it is still a top-10 song on the US Country Songs Chart.
George Strait hit the country world in 1980 and released his first album in 1981, Strait Country. Since 1981 he has released a new album every year except for seven years. He hit the big screen in 1992 with the leading role in Pure Country. The soundtrack to the movie Pure Country is Strait’s best-selling album to date.
His first major award came in 1984 when he won the Academy of Country Music, Top Male Vocalist. He holds the record for number one albums, platinum albums, gold albums, and multi-platinum in the history of country music. He ranks #11 in the most number one albums in all other genres.
