After 158 weeks on Billboard.com’s Top Rock Album Chart, Sigh No More by Mumford & Sons, is still in the top 20. For the week of May 11, 2013, the song moved from #20 to #18. The album was released on October 2, 2009 and quickly hit the #1 spot on the Top Rock Album Chart.
Sigh No More was the first studio album released by the band. The follow-up album, Babel, was released on September 21, 2012. Between 2008 and 2013, Mumford & Sons released eight EPs plus two live albums, Live from Shepherd’s Bush Empire and The Road to Red Rocks. Babel won the International Album of the Year at the Juno Awards in 2013 and it also won a Grammy
Award for Album of the Year.
Current band members include Marcus Mumford, Winston Marshall, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane. All four are original members. Mumford & Sons formed in 2007 in London, England. They perform under the genres of Indie folk and folk rock. The band’s name came from the front man Mumford and the word son was added to invoke the sense of a family.
