This video is for the D sharp or E flat power chord, or the E flat 5 chord or D sharp 5 chord, all the same thing.

We’re going to start by finding our D sharp note on the sixth string, which in this case means going all the way up to the eleventh fret. And you put your index finger down on that note. Now we add the other two fingers in the power chord formula that we’re always going to use. It’s index first and then I’m going to go third finger on the fifth string thirteenth fret, pinky on the fourth string thirteenth fret. X’s on strings three, two, and one.  And that’s my D sharp 5 chord.

If I want to make the root five version of that chord I go to the fifth string sixth fret with my index finger. And just like with the root six, I’m going to use the finger formula here where I go fourth string eighth fret and pinky on the third string eighth fret. That’s the root five E flat power chord or D sharp power chord.
